Electric Muscle Stimulation

Small amounts of electrical current administered at the site of soft tissue injury, especially muscles, relieves pain, reduces swelling, breaks scar tissue in muscles or joints, and strengthens muscle. The patient feels a tingling sensation, first, then may progress to an actual contraction of the muscle depending on the desired results.

Interferential has the same effect as Electric Muscle Stimulation, but of a different wave form so that it is less irritating to the patient.
